As I sit and turn the last page of my copy of The Color Purple, I begin to sink. I don’t understand why my hands always reach out to novels that are considered “depressing”. I do not know what the reading of such novels brings to me. Now as I begin to think, it has been this way for every movie, book, poem or song that I have ever liked. I feel attracted to Sadness. I do not necessarily yearn for any kind of resolution in life. Why is this so?

"Tragedy is a tool for the living to gain wisdom, not a guide by which to live"... so said Kennedy. Going by what he said, you surely are becoming wiser with every book :)
When did you start blogging, btw?

PS: The word verification is so complex :|

There's nothing wrong in being sad AND also enjoying your sadness. :)
A short dose of sadness only shifts your focus from the happy-happy smiling faces.
I think it helps you live and enjoy the happy moments better in comparison to a scenario where u are "always"- always happy.

And coming to "you" as a person! When you say, you feel 'attracted' to sadness, as far as i know u, this attraction only shows how happy and cheerful as a person u are in the various aspects of life. :) Occasionally, when you feel attracted to sadness... ONLY coz such stories/incidents haven't been frequent to u.

But do not worry, I am here! :D hu ha haa haaa.[evil]

I'll make sure that u enjoy the happy times even better! :P :P
